Business-to-consumer e-commerce = Selling to the public on the Internet. B2C e-commerce = Selling to the public on the internet. Business-to-business e-commerce = Firms communicating with and ordering from their suppliers over the Internet. B2B e-commerce = Firms communicating and ordering from their suppliers over the Internet. E-procurement = Business-to-business e-commerce. Communication from companies with government = B2G, business-to-government. Dot-com bust = When many internet sellers went out of business. Internet sellers = People who sell stuf on the internet for business. Web 2.0 = The stable fase of internet selling, now dominated by a few big websites. Web 2.0 also refers to the increasing importance of social-networking sites. Social-networking sites = Sites like Facebook. Video-sharing sites = Sites like YouTube. Blogs = Online diaries. Collaborative sites = Where people work together on particular projects, like wikipedia. To host = Like Amazon hosts other sellers on its site, the other sellers can offer their goods and Amazon takes a commission for it. Commission = A percentage of money from sales. Auction site = Where buyers and sellers are linked, so that the buyers can place bids for goods. Bids = Increasing offers. Highest bidder = The person who offers the most. Online selling = The only form of e-commerce. Online banking = You can check the state of you bank account. Online dating = You can find a partner. Online gambling = You can make and lose money in games of chance. Online gaming = You can make or lose money in games of chance. Online brokerage = You can buy and sell shares. Online travel = You can make bookings for flights, etc. Online fundraising = Non-profit organizations can raise money.
