cultured = educated, having a good taste (a cultured person knows a lot about art and literature) rational = having the capacity to reason without emotions. (a judge has to make rational decisions) imaginative = with vivid or creative fantasy. (narnia is an imaginative story) prophetic = predictive, foreshadowing (orwell's 1984) idealistic = of high moral value, the perfect picture. (a world of peace) sympathetic = friendly original = the first of something, authentic humorous = funny (humorous remark made everybody laugh) progressive = advancing unprejudiced = the view of an author that doesn't try to influence the reader dispassionate = not influenced by strong emotions superficial = lacking depth of character understanding, oppervlakkig intolerant = unwilling to accept or support different opinions or beliefs cynical = sarcastic in an even more negative way, not friendly intellectual = having or showing your braincapacity, especially on a high level or high degree philosophical = wise and learned, full of wisdom. perceptive = good at understanding thing and figuring them out optimistic = disposed to take a favourable view on events, expect the best possible outcome religious = having or showing beliefs or having reverence to a god or a higher power sophisticated = at ease in social situations and knowing about matters that are socially important whimsical = type or writing which is imaginative and funny and espresses odd ideas. often unpredictable and not serious radical = extreme fundimental factors on something. realistic = gives impression of reflecting an actual way of life. bigoted = extremely intolerant to other's beliefs or opinions. (racists, xenofobes, homofobes) erudite = learned, having a lot of knowledge by studying. analytical = logical thinking, thinking things through in a logic way broad-minded = happy to accept beliefs and ways of life that are different witty = using words in a clever and amusing way, often humorous conservative = not liking change, you want things to stay the same. opinionated = persistent in your own opinions fanatical = having an extreme zeal (ijver) pessimistic = expecting the worst possible outcome sentimental = characterised by emotions
